Christ University Institute of Management a complete review

January 24, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

Christ University Institute of Management is one of the top private Bschools (MBA colleges) not only in Bangalore but in the country. This post will give you a complete review of the Bschool, right from the courses to placements, infrastructure, culture of the Bschool etc. Read on..

Campuses: Christ University has two vast campuses in Bangalore. The Main Campus is in Koramangala (A commercial hub of Bangalore) and the Kengeri Campus in Kengeri near the Bangalore-Mysore highway.

Programs:: Christ University has four Management Programs and here are the details:

1) MBA (Christ University): This is the flagship program of the College. The MBA program which many students aspire is spread across 6 trimesters (two years).

You have a choice of 4 specializations to opt for in this program, they are: HRM, Marketing, Finance and Lean Operations and Systems (LOS). You have to choose your specialization in the very first trimester unlike other MBA colleges which is a great idea as students would be focused right from the beginning of the course.
HRM specialization is available only in the Main Campus while the other 3 are available in both the campuses.

2) PGDM (Christ University) and MBA (Wuerzburg – Schweinfurt University, Germany).: They call this the German Program in Christ which is a PGDM awarded by Christ University and an MBA from Wuerzburg – Schweinfurt University which happens through transfer of credits. Students would do 1 trimester in Germany and 5 in Bangalore and 40% of the classes are taught by German faculty.
Now this German University is mainly into applied sciences and I fail to understand how much value it can create into a Management program. The global rankings for this University are not great either. I would suggest you do some solid research on this program before opting for it.

3) MBA International Business: This Program called the Singapore Program which is an MBA Program (6 trimesters) which specializes in International Business (Marketing and Finance). The degree is awarded by Christ University and a certificate is provided by Learning Capital which is an Institution with courses on Child Care and Childhood education. This time I really fail to understand what value Learning Capital can offer for an MBA program in International Business.
However students would spend 4 weeks in Singapore for their summer internship which happens after their 3rd trimester.

4) MBA Executive: Now this is a 4 Semester (2 years) Program for working Professionals with a minimum work experience of 2 years. Classes are held from 6:30-8:30 pm from Monday through Friday. I shall discuss more on this Program on my future posts dedicated to Part time MBA.

University Affiliation: : In July 2008 Christ College was declared a deemed University by Ministry of HRD. Christ might not be University in the future as the Central Govt has proposed to withdraw its university status due to various reasons (it’s not official yet though). However, when I visited the campus the mood was not affected due to this news.

Faculty: The faculty are good especially the visiting ones and are strong in their subject knowledge.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure in Christ is good if not great. It has a WiFi set up for its MBA building and students should buy their own laptops. Its computer lab (labtop lab) is certainly inadequate for the strength of students the college has. The University Library is extensive but not with a great collection of Management books. The class rooms are fitted with LCD projectors but pretty old. Now one great thing that Christ has built is its auditorium which is world-class.

Placements: This is the factor that many students choose their MBA colleges (Bschools) on. I am very glad to say Christ has a great placement cell. The placement cell for its MBA (PGDM) programs is headed by Mr. Joseph Mampilly and Mrs. Molly Mampilly who are the coordinators and are well-connected in the corporate world. The placement cell passionately strives year after year to achieve the 100% placements mark. Each student is individually counseled and helped for their entry into jobs.
Placements have already started for the finally years (2010) and the good students are always picked up early, even before the last trimester starts.
Here is the list of notable companies which recruited students for the year 2009:
Amazon Group
Citi Bank
Amba Research
Dalmia Cements
Axis Bank
Futures First
American Express
Dun & Bradstreet
Big FM
HDFC Bank
CBRE (they pay really well :))
IOCL (Highest Package)
Infosys
Perot Systems
ITC
Schneider
Leela Kempinski
SBI
Target
TCS eserve
Oracle Finance
TCS
UB
Wipro

The average salary is around 4-5 lac per annum and highest goes up to 7 lacs. This will help you calculate the ROI on your time and money spent on your MBA in Christ Bangalore.

Co curricular activities: Students are given a lot of projects and presentations apart from the University prescribed summer internship and dissertation (done in final year) which is very helpful in honing their management skills. They also have an outbound training program and clubs on HR, Marketing and Finance. Students Visit all the major management Fest in the country and also conduct reputed fests themselves. Chrysalis Pioneer and Ushas are the 3 important ones.
Each student works under a mentor for project and other activities and has to attend a current affairs discussions post lunch.
This is how all the interaction happens with your batch mates.

Corporate tie ups: The MBA department does not have any corporate tie ups as such, which I am sure is due to the fact that students have very little time as the program has a hectic schedule.

The Culture – Life @ Christ: Christ in simple terms is a strict College and I am sure students will miss their usual masti of degree College. Dress code is completely formal, attendance should be more than 90%, time conciseness is primary and so on..Faculty are friendly but the College administration is the opposite. Some students hate Life at Christ and some love it (I loved it). For some gossip many students end up getting married to their batch mates :).

Selection Process: Candidates with a composite score of 600 and above in December MAT 2009 or 75+ percentile in CAT 2009 with an aggregate of 50% and above in UG are eligible to apply. Students writing final degree exams in March-May 2010 are also eligible to apply.

The process includes a GD (35 min for a group) and a Micro Presentation for 90 sec/student in a group.
Personal Interview for 15 min for each candidate by an expert panel.
The panel also takes into consideration the academic performance of the student form 10th to degree.
You can check the Christ University website for important dates on selection process.
Applications are available until Jan 26th 2009.

Fee structure:
Karnataka Students have a fee of 2.4 lacs/year for the MBA Program, 4.5 lacs/year for the German MBA Program and 3.1 lacs for the 1st year and 2.5 lacs + 5000 SGD for 2nd year for the Singapore Program.
Students from other states have to pay 10000 INR more in the first year with this fee.
This data is obtained from the MBA admission office and has some variation from Christ University website.

Please leave your valuable suggestions and comments. Don’t forget to subscribe to this blog as I shall review all the top MBA Colleges in Bangalore soon.

Ur blog is really helpful………..i am thinking to take admission in 2010 batch in MBA course…….can u let me know is the flagship program of Christ university carries how much value if we go for jobs off campus placements and what will happen to this course if the affiliation gets removed……….is it risky to take admissions.

    • Bangalore MBA
      March 12, 2010 at 10:50 pm

      Firstly thanks Manvi…
I thought the admissions for the 2010 batch are already over!!! I don know if you can still try, if you want I shall let you know.
The flagship program is the MBA and there is no doubt about it.
More than 90% of them get placed in the campus itself, it rarely happens that one goes out of campus with out a job but when it happens its a bit tough to get a good package.
If the affiliation gets removed then Christ goes back to Bangalore University as it was previously.
Its not risky to take admissions but if you have a better choice you can think about them a bit seriously too.
Hope I have answered all your questions, feel free to shoot more of them 🙂

      March 25, 2010 at 10:48 am

I would say its: Alliance, Christ, PSG and Jansons.

Alliance and Christ give you great exposure in bschool learning, try for these two first. You can consider PSG and finally Jansons as your last option.

The placements are the same for both the campuses and the faculty also keep up pace with both the locations, so you can go ahead with either of the locations as they are considered to be equal.

    • Anonymous
      April 1, 2010 at 12:19 pm

Hi Aishwarya, waiting list does not confirm your seat, this means that if there is any drop out in the final admission then you would be entitled to a seat based on your WL number. I would suggest, since you have a good MAT score, to look at other options as well. You can try in XIME and Alliance in Bangalore.
Hope I have answered your questions.

second ma 12th percentage z below 60, can dis pose a problem at da tym of placement?
third and the most important…. christ kengeri, amity noida and university of petroleum dehradun…. which college do u suggest i shud go for?/???

        Hi Garima,

        Is Kengeri safe for girls?
I do not know much about the hostel and security facilities there, how ever, I can assert the fact that Christ is very disciplined College and is very secure as a whole.
        With regard to 60%-
It might pose some problems, as some companies(espeacially IT)ask for >60% right from 10th to MBA. But this happens with very few companies, so no worries here.
        Finally which one to choose?
Tough one. The easiest answer is it depends. I am huge fan of focused learning, and oil/gas is good industry to be in. When you do an MBA in Christ or Amity you are just another MBA, but if you are a management expert in Oil/Gas field your value will be immense. My take – go ahead with UOP Dehradun, if the placement record and other stuff is good.- Bhargav

the kengeri campus will most probably me completed on the 1 or 2 as the opening is on the 3rd.the hostel lloks very nicw however the only problem is that the rooms are a bit small and look its each others rooms……the mess is present in the hostel and we have to buy out food …

  11. April 10, 2010 at 9:30 am

    Hi Garima,

Christ Kengeri Girls Hostel is housed by Sisters. It has robust security and is half a kilometer from the college. The mess is not to the mark, esp if u are a North Indian (mostly the food is Kerala styled).
Also i heard that Rules in the hostel are very strict regarding timings and all that, so many ended up leaving girls hostel.

I wud say Christ Kengeri or Dehradun. The fees at Amity is very high and placements are mediocre. As “B’lore MBA” It depends if you want to do an MBA join CHrist, and if interested in O&P u can join the coll frm dehradun .

hii all, i am currently a 2010-2012 batch student in christ and doing mba. About the placements.. its still going on nd will continue till april or may.. soo can’t really tell the average n’ol packages but the companies that had recruited till yet are among good ones like TCS, A C NEILSON, ITC hotels , HCL etc… with good profile as well.. and the packages vary.
For the selection purpose, U’l gt call for christ further selection process with ur mat score more than 70 or 75 percentile.. however, as per of my experience.. u may try 2 secure more than 90 percentile in feb mat if u r giving … but not only score but ur micro-presentations and GD-PI will also be crucial for your admission.. so focus on these rounds .. and CONFIDENCE is the key.. !! be updated in regards of current affairs and also wateva u hd studied during ur grads.. !!
Hope i had helped with some doubts.. !!

I kno that you ll ve a few butterflies in your stomach, its okay and that always helps. The best thing you can do is do a lot of practice sessions with your frens or even alone, keep discussing about any topic under the sun, get a dose of current affairs as Jay commented previously. Finally have a strategy in place, to start early, to conclude, to be assertive, etc… ohh and don forget to take the chill pill yaar.. 🙂

Compliment this with a crisp white dress shirt (don wear a tie pls), make sure your footwear is tidy and hair well kept, and as Jay said calm down. hey you are already lookin great.. 🙂

hi…i want to know about the fee structure of christ for MBA general..
if i get selected then how much amount i need to pay and in how much time???
if i dont take admission how much amount will be refunded???

  43. jay
    January 24, 2011 at 2:28 pm

For the fee structure please visit http://www.christuniversity.in . Its 5,60,000 for 2 yrs for MBA gen, for states other than karnataka.. and 5,50,000 for students from karnataka. !! If selected, u have to pay the first year amount.. i.e. half of the total fee within 7 days.. !! And for refund, its per AICTE guidelines, but u’l really find it tough for the refund.. !! ATB !! 🙂

Hi , I got admission at Christ Kengeri campus for MBA. How do you rate Christ University in comparasion with Symbiosis or Jain – B’lore.

Also, Since I am from Hyderabad I believe that Christ would be better than colleges like GITAM,SIVA Sivani or Vignyan in Hyderabad. Can you reassure me that Joining Christ would be better than joining these Hyderabad based B-Schools !! Your views would be appreciated.

    • Bangalore MBA
      February 7, 2011 at 9:54 am

you will receive my views by tonight.

      quickly yes christ is better.

    • Bangalore MBA
      February 7, 2011 at 10:45 pm

Yes as Jay commented, symbiosis is of a different league (am talking about the Pune campus,i think you are asking about the bangalore campus), Symbiosis Bangalore is a college which has not made any news right from the word go, I would say Christ will be better when compared to Symbi(blr) and jain is not as good as Christ.
Gitam and Siva Sivani are okay sort of MBA colleges and I don know about Vignyan and I am sure anyday Christ wins hands down when compared to all these colleges..

      Congrats !!!

  57. jay
    February 6, 2011 at 10:55 pm

@shankar — Symbiosis is among the ELITE list of b-schools.. so there is no chance comparing it with christ… and apart from symbiosis, wut all colleges u mentioned. Christ stand tall… And about reassurance, at the end of the 2 yrs, it will be ur caliber which will fetch u nice placements nd profiles.. collgs just help u in grooming ur personality and making u fit for the industry.

  59. jay
    February 6, 2011 at 11:10 pm

Well, VCU program is an MBA program in collaboration with VC University, U.S .. they will provide u with an MS and students will be going there for a part of their trimister in the U.S .. for 4 weeks nd then u’l be returning back to b’lore nd complete ur MBA degree here. About its authenticity, it will be the second batch this time. umm.. someone who is already a part of VCU may be the better person to help you. Any specific information u want u can tel me.. i’l see if i can ask ny1 from this course.. !!

  62. jay
    February 7, 2011 at 10:45 pm

@ anamika — well, if m nt wrong u applied for the GDPI session for february session .. hmm, if there was sumthing 2 do with distance education, they wouldn’t had called you for the february process only.. So, i don’t think its an issue. However, i’l confirm about the same but my reply may not be prompt since i have my mid-sem exmaz starting this wednesday. But i’l try my level best to revert back to you as soon i gt any information regarding the same 🙂

Does christ provide a refund of fees?????…if we don’t join there

  68. jay
    February 8, 2011 at 4:45 pm

@ abby — Yes, the number of seats of your batch will increase like any other B-school. !! Every year the seats increase. And about the placements, its still in the process and gud companies are coming to campus and recruiting students. But everyone needs to understand that its the student’s caliber and capability to fetch the placement. The institution just helps u groom your skills.

P.S (For all the aspirants)- Entry into good B-schools does not promise/insure you with you getting the best of the placement. Its your hard work that needs to be put in since u’l be facing a tough competition from your peers. So, don’t merely limit your parameters just only to placements, though consider it as a part of your multiple parameters while selecting a B-school . !!

  69. jay
    February 8, 2011 at 4:48 pm

@manu – according to AICTE norms, yes it does. However, it may be tough for you for the refund. and u may need to have to visit the campus personally. They will ask you your GENUINE reason of not joining Christ and for refunding. But at the end, they will.. !!

      Hi,
The placements have been goin on gud till yet.. !! as for the recent status. over 78 students got placed in one day, that was on 22nd feb ’11 with wipro taking 21, icici taking 43 and rest south indian bank with decent profyl.. !! so this tells that there is not a much worry about the placements since this trend may optimistically continue 4 further batches as well .. And about the highest package , well its 2 early 2 comment upon since many companies are coming and the process is going on nd will continue till may end or so.. !! MBA FINANCE – this year finance is having an upper hand over marketing due to the increasing demand 4 the same.. !! so, its bein good with good packages as well.. !!

After i took the admission in christ the HOD told us to get a 1 month organizational training from a reputed manufacturing company.
But i am facing some problem regarding this matter. i am from kolkata. the companies i had gone through, they either telling me that they r not conducting any kind of training or they will give this kind of training after completion of my 1 st year.
so my question is how to solve this matter? what you did when you got the admission?

    • jay
      March 7, 2011 at 8:29 pm

The only solution is training itself.. !! because the faculty are very particular about this training. If you can’t get thru big shot companies then try for low profile ones. !! u also would had been given ur mentor’s number. contact them and discuss it with them..!!

Same problem with me also. Many companies are saying that they provide OS training after 1st year only.can u tell me how much weightage the training has in the trimester exams ? N what about food facilities at the Kengeri campus hostel ?

  92. Akhilesh
    March 15, 2011 at 1:39 pm

From which company did u people pursue the organizational training ? Is it OK if we go for the low profile companies as well ???

    • jay
      March 18, 2011 at 12:37 am

its perfectly oll right, given that it should have all the devisions of management like finance, manufacturing, marketing nd HR… nd should not be just 10-15 people company… i hope you understand what i am trying to convey… !!
Also, the training doesn’t have any weightage as such in your scores but it is a veryyy important part.. so kindly take it seriously . And if you’l be able to do good, then definitly u’l b forming a good image in faculties mind.. and THAT IS FORMOST *IMPORTANT* – A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH THE FACILITIES !!
about food facilities in hostel.. i can’t comment much since only from your batches its starting.. but expect it to be good.. !!
      hope i solved your query… 🙂
All the best and welcome 2 CUIM :))

      hi,
well about trimester system.. exams start every 3 months… but be ready to face xams in almost every month in terms of CIA’s , MID-TERMS, Assigments n’ol…. specially in first year… !! about holidays… don’t expect soo many holidays but yes, u’l get some 🙂 nd surprise holidays are a part of CUIM 😉 nd saturdays are half-days and sundays being holiday… !! so you can calculate accordingly.. !!

i`ve got a mail already to apply for GD/PI session for admission in MBA-2011 through MAT feb(645 composite score) .
and than i was about to fill up an online application form for the admission procedure but than i got to know that GD/PI is in first week of April.
, as i`m in final year of graduation from rajasthan university and my exams are going around as well, and exams would be over by 30th of march ; still it would take almost 3 days of travelling by train from jaipur to banglore.
however, i`ve been through application rules as well and i`ve got know that request for change in GD/PI dates would not be entertained ,
but still i`m in a hope, is there any way for me to make it possible to attend the further procedure [GD/PI schedule] .

would that be possible for me to attend the GD/PI process by 1st of April in the evening ..because i`d be travelling all the way from jaipur to banglore for specially this interview.
or may be early morning in 2nd of April .
    ??
    i`m in a fix !!

Hi, thanks for your review it is quite a lot helpful. Here my query is that, i stay in mumbai, and 2 years i will complete the course in banglore so is it that whatever placements will come, will only come for jobs in banglore..do companies come for jobs located in mumbai ?? or is there any kind of arrangement which i can do in placements if i want job location as mumbai if i get selected in any particular firm.. ???
are you aware of persons who had similar issue and did they got satisfactory response from the companies..??

Hey sameer, really sorry for that man, am held up in the usual year end presssssurrreeee at office….you will experience that soon :), am glad.

Its simple sameer, there are a lot of companies which would require people who have local knowledge (especially in sales) but at the same time, decide on the job profile and company rather than on the location coz after two + years of exp you can settle down where ever you want.

      Hope this answers your question.

how many total seats are there for their flagship course MBA ( Main + Kengeri )

    Do they provide Scholarships ?

doubt no.1 — total number of seats.. no idea as they don’t disclose.. but expect the same as our batch, around 500+ (approx)
doubt no.2 — the result is displayed at the end.. and scores of each round are accumulated. however your PI selection will b based on ur performance in GD and PRESENTATION.
doubt no.3– yes they do provide scholarships, you have to contact the office for that..
    Hope it helped 🙂

Hey Ruhi, I really love talking about GD. Here we go:
I truly believe that GD’s need to have strategies, you can know all about the topic but still not open your mouth and utter a word, you might be the a master in debate but you still can create an impression of unnecessary aggression. Just keep these simple things in mind before you D-day:
      1) preparation is the key, you need to prepare a lot, not on topics alone but the way you talk on a topic. Just try taking on any topic under the sun and you will notice that as you practice you ll get better and better. Its not the topic alone its the way in which you discuss the topic.
      2) choose a strategy: Do you want to go ahead in the very beginning, do you want join in the middle, do you want to disagree with anyone in the room, decide on how you will time your talk. I was a guy who never started, I always used to take my time and jump in the middle. Decide whats your strength.
3)Calm down, its just a GD, you show some calmness, smile, throw your voice with assertiveness and you know what ppl will listen even bullS@#t if you are confident.

And finally, if you get an unfamiliar topic:
Firstly don panic, there might be a bunch of others who might not even have a clue of the topic, you wont be the only one there. Calm down.
Secondly, just take sometime and let others talk before you make your statements, mean while note things down as points. Remember there’s no right or wrong here, its just opinions out there that matter.
Finally, grab the opportunity to conclude things, not many will compete with you on this, but you sure will be noticed.

OMG, i spoke a lot, may this should be a blog post and not a comment. 🙂

      Cheers and goodluck.

hey i got into kengeri campus 😀 i initially wanted to go for HR. but as it is not availbae on the campus. i am planning to opt for operations. i wanted to a know a little details about the course and what has been the companies and placement offers so far and as to will this be beneficial in near future.

    • April 20, 2011 at 6:37 pm

      hi akansha,
well i will be senior for all you guyz and girls in kengeri. To start off with, HR specialization has been requested to our faculty. lets see if there will be a good number of people who want HR from your batch, then you can go ahead and talk to the faculty, maybe that will work out. And about operations, it is a nice course but then make sure that you have a technical background like mechanical engineering n’ol because then it will be better for you to nderstand the concepts and to give you an upper edge during placements n’ol. About placements, well the seniors whom i know , from operations, have been successfully placed in companies like TARGET , etc with a decent package. And since not many people opt for this specialization, the competition is far much less. And about the future of this specialization. well YES, It has a good future since there are not many good colleges that provide with this specialization and you can expect lots of good companies to approach in the near future.
Hope my reply helped u in some context.
      All the best 🙂

    • April 20, 2011 at 8:38 pm

hey u dont have to use this word sir, u can call me with my name only,
and about mat scores, december mat scores and february mat scores are valid for a particular session. eg. feb 2011 mat score will be considered for the batch of 2011-13 and not the next year.. u have to give dec 2011 or feb 2012 mat exams to apply for it.
About the cut-off.. its 650(score). but anywhere around 85 + percentile will give u an edge.. rest it depends on ur performance during later stages of selection.. !!

Well there is no prescribed limit for the number of pages that you should have.. !!
if you have any reference of your senior’s OST report then you might can get idea about the way it should be prepared and presented. !!
And take my suggestion – don’t prepare the hard copy as of now, just be ready with your report’s soft copy. Once you are here, you might have to update or modify your project depending upon your mentor’s requirement. So, after modification only you can get the hard copy from here itself. !!
      Hope my replied helped you.

      hey titty,
both the specialisation are good – in demand and career wise too. Its for you to decide which subject you wanna go in. As per of my suggestion, don’t make any assumptions/confusions about the two. As soon you’l be near completing your first year in mba, u’l definitly get to know your blend. !! So its too early to take decision about the same. Till then enjoy the time ..

if the company is not providing you with the certificate, have a words with a mentor about the same and if possible then make an HR from your company talk to your college mentor so that your mentor will understand your condition..

Hi all. The information provided helped me a lot during the time of GD_MP_WSA & PI as well. Thanks for the Inputs that everyone has granted. I’m Abinandan from Chennai. I’ve been working for HCL Technologies as a software Engineer close to 2 yrs. I’ve got MBA admission in Kengeri Campus. In my E Admission card, it’s written MBA_PGDM, but no discipline. I’ve told in my interview that I wanted the German MBA Program but I’m not able to find what discipline I’m attached with. Can you tell me how can I contact them or will they tell about this during the time of Admission alone. Please leave your inputs. Thanks A Lot !!!

It’s not at all important… If you are getting a certificate , it is very good…Even if you are not getting a certificate also don’t worry. All are just formalities . The best thing what many people did is GET A OST REPORT FROM THE COMPANY. MAKE LIL CHANGES AND PRESENT IT. thats it…chillax now…don’t ruin your vacation in the name of this so called OST !!!

    Course: B. Com (Honours)
    Applicant No: 12100998

I had come for the interview of above mentioned course on 22nd May, 2012 and I had been wait listed. I was asked to submit my 12th class results as soon as I get them. After I submitted the same and called college authorities to confirm my status, they said we need to come again for the second round of interview. firstly, there is no intimation from college about the same and when we called they gave us the time for Monday, June 4, 2012 at 10 AM. After the candidate reaches there at the given time they said the interviews have been finished on Saturday, june 2, 2012.

Never expected such unprofessional ism by a university such as Christ. it is not easy for out station people to reach bangalore so easily. Even after the assigned date and time if college cannot stick to their words, it is really a sad situation.

    HIghly disappointed

Is the syllabus too hectic? and by all the extensive research I have done, I found that High placements and max packages go for Marketing and Finance. Is it really wise pursuing HR from Christ. I have 15 months of work experience in a Leading IT firm. Also, what is the strength of total students to compete with? Kindly advice me on this as my admission dates are nearing and within a week I have to decide. Thanks in advance

Hi, i went through the GD/PI and got rejected after the personal interview. Not sure what was reason. They say that i was rejected on the basis of my PUC marks which is 55%. i have a work exp of 28 months at Wipro, and to add on i’ve scored pretty well in my 10th and graduation. I also work for the core HR team which hires freshers and MBA Graduates adn know the whole procedure. I was 120% sure to get through and made a mistake of not applying to other colleges. They should have rejected me during the document check they do before the GD/PI and everything. It will save time Both theirs and ours.

      May 6, 2013 at 4:41 pm

Also to add on, the eligibility criteria is 50 overall. They were ready to offer me MFM which is totally irrelevant to the field i work in. Really disappointing. i have no other way but to loose a year again.

It is with great disappointment that I am informing you that I have not
been able to secure an OST opportunity with manufacturing organisation yet.

I have approached in person, over emails and phone calls with my intent
and application to complete the OST in many reputed firms in and outside
Bangalore. Most of the companies refused to entertain my application
sighting reason that they dont have a provision to allow such training
before joining or undergoing sufficient amount of relevant management
    education.

I assure you that my search for a suitable organisation still continues
and am determined to get the OST completed and submit necessary reports at
    the end of the same.

Please find below ,a list out of the organisations that I approached over
the last one month and the subsequent responses received.

    – *V-guard Industries:* They don’t have any vacancies for any further
trainings for the next 3 months, since all the training & internship
batches are running full. These are the engineering and management trainee
internship batches as part of the curriculum during the period of course.
    – *Makino India Ltd:* Such training and internship are stopped from
    last couple of years.
    – *Shreno India Ltd:* Refused such training.
    – *Alembic Pharmaceuticals*: Refused
    – *Toyota-Kirloskar:* Currently facing some labour issues. No training
    or internship allowed till then
    – *Kirloskar Electric:* Refused
    – *FlowServe India Controls Ltd:* No scope for internship and training
    – *Thermo Fisher Scientific India Ltd:* No internships at this level
    of MBA
    – *BILT Ballarpur:* No scope for management internship and train
    Only engineers entertained

Other companies whom I approached and my request for the OST was turned
down include Alfred Herbert India Ltd., Geneva India Ltd., Kerry
Ingredients, GM Techincal centre India, TATAElxsi, Snecma HAL Aerospace Pvt
Ltd, Morpho Detection, PHARMED Limited, Turbomeca India Engines Ltd. etc .
There are many more to add to this list.

All the responses so far has been negative and very disappointing.

With all the desire and intention to complete this OST, gain some
real-time experience of management machinery and to prepare, complete and
submit a report befitting the MBA course, I sincerely request your advise
on some pointers and contacts to get this OST started with some
    manufacturing organisation.

I would really appreciate your help in directing me to suitable
organisations. Expecting all your assistance and guidance in this regard.

    Thanks in anticipation!!

What is the capacity of the kengri campus? And i jst wanted an advice ,whether i should tk admission on kengri campus? I got selected. Bt i also got call from sitm, siom and sims.

    • Aditya
      January 29, 2015 at 2:56 pm

Suggesting you not to opt for Christ, if you have calls from sitm, siom , sims. The placement they show is not very good (big brands take 1-2 students)and most importantly the package offered to the students of Maters level is crap.
If you want to earn (4-5)L/a that too with least probability then of-course go ahead with Christ.
(I am suggesting a big NO) after all at the end to want to get placed right, if that’s not to motive then join Christ

    Dear Bhargava,

can you tell me some good hostels in kengeri, near Christ campus for girls. my nephew got admitted there. that si the reason why I am asking for this information

    • Lachman
      April 12, 2015 at 3:35 pm

Girls Hostels in and around CUIM Kengeri.

      1.Christ Hall..
—–in-campus girls hostel only for pg students…
      2. Jyothi Nilaya Hostel managed by Ursline sisters..
—–5 minutes from CUIM kengeri. towards Kengeri Satellite Town.
      3. Maria PG
      —–5 minutes…towards Wonderlaa.

n for boys Devadan Hall is the best…its the in-campus boys hostel with all the facilities and well maintained.

      Apart from these,
many PGs and flats are also there in KST, Kengeri Bus stand area n near Gopalan Arcade mall.

n guys dont worry abt the placement part,as its completely centralised for both the campuses.
      everything is same…even faculties.

placement statistics for the 2013-2015 batch–
LOS n Marketing so far the best..
      followed by finance.
Around 65 out of 78 from LOS (kengeri) r placed so far in companies like HUL,Oracle, Mercedez,TCS, Odessa n many more with average package of around 5.5-6 lpa.
and the placement process will continue till june 2015 for the 2015 batch.. so most probably everyone will get placed as the last yrs trends show.

I hope these infos can help u guys…

WELCOME TO THE CUIM KENGERI FAMILY….

      Lachman Tewary
      Lean Operations & Systems.
      2014-2016 batch.
      CUIM , Kengeri.

    Hi
I got selected for mba in kengeri campus. Im convinced about the placements there as I heard its centralized now. What is the internship opportunity in kengeri campus and are there extra curricular activities in kengeri campus like the main campus for mba students?
